All
the products that we supply, either online or from our retail outlet,
all carry full UK Manufacturer Warranty and are EU (UK) specification
and tested products. So even if you live hundreds of miles away from
our retail and service outlet you can still receive manufacturer's
customer support at a closer location to yourself under the terms and
conditions of the manufacturer's warranty. Many manufacturers list
their warranty terms on their own websites or within the pages of their
catalogues. You will also find that many manufacturers will also carry,
on their websites, lists of dealerships that also carry out warranty
claims and general servicing of their products.
For example, if you purchased a Makita or Dewalt power tool from Goodwins Power Tools and it developed a fault, within the specified warranty period, you could take the item, with a copy of your purchase receipt, to any official warranty agent, for that product in the UK, and they will carry out the necessary repair under the terms and conditions of the warranty.
Also as an EU (UK) specification product, all parts are available so the purchased items can also be generally serviced or repaired, at your cost, in any service centre long after warranty periods have expired.
Manufacturers Warranties vary from one company to another and are also dependant on product type. Generally most warranties are for 12 months and some offer longer warranties or service facilities. For example, Dewalt offer a 12 month warranty on power tools and also offer one free service to the item if presented at a warranty service point within it's warranty period. (We usually tell our shop customers to return the tool at about 10-11 months so we can give it a general service before the warranty expires.
It really does pay to purchase only an EU (UK) specification item with full manufacturer warranty. Purchasing non-EU (UK) specification imports is just a minefield.
With regard to any second-hand tools sold by Goodwins Power Tools, any offered warranty will be made clear and is a Goodwins Power Tools warranty only, not a manufacturer warranty.
